The EMIT Museum

The door closes behind you...

You are here interviewing to join the agents of EMIT. The job is thrilling! If you are accepted, you’ll get a time machine and will be able to race through the ages, fixing inconsistencies to the historical record and solving mysteries. Most people assume that EMIT doesn’t exist and you have to admit that even you had your doubts, but here you are in your first interview. A young man introduces himself as Oscar and greets you warmly.

So you need to crack 2 dials and get a chain off of the safe… You should get started right away. You look around you at the artifacts in the museum. You can’t help but wonder if these can help you get that lock off of the chain. Examine the pictures below and when you think you know the answer, click on the objectives link below and enter the password in all lower-case letters or in numbers. If you are stuck, check out the hints below.

+ Hint 1

You need an 8 letter answer to type into the objectives link above. The picture of the museum on the screen above has 8 items on the shelves. I wonder if each of them can give you a letter?

+ Hint 2

The objects are arranged from 1st to 8th. Why don't you look up each of the items displayed in the exhibit list...

+ Hint 3

The first item is a model of the Titanic. That is in "Exhibit L" on the list on the screen. That means l must be the first letter of your answer.

+ Hint 4

The sword is the 2nd object and that is in "Exhibit O." The golden mask is the 3rd object and that is in "Exhibit C." The top hat is the 4th object and that is in "Exhibit K." So far, our answer is "lock????"

+ Hint 5

The spyglass is 5th and is in "Exhibit P." The Yeti footprint is 6th and is in "Exhibit I." The skull is in "Exhibit C." Finally, the 8th artifact is the handcuffs from "Exhibit K." Put all of these letters together.

+ Solution

Enter "lockpick" into the "Remove the padlock from the chains" link.
