Time's Up!

Footsteps echo down the corridor…

     You immediately freeze in your work. A guard is heading your way and you aren’t sure that there is anywhere you can go where you won’t be seen. You try to think up a cover story or a disguise to throw on to hide your identity, but nothing comes. The footsteps get closer… but halt about 20 feet or so from you and they retreat. Breathing a sigh of relief, you continue. However, you know that not long from now you will run into a guard.
